COLLEGE TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Beth taught at the college level at both Campbellsville University in Kentucky and at William Carey University in Hattiesburg. She primarily taught methods courses in reading, math, and science, as well as classroom management. Beth was well known for her expertise in reading strategies as a regional, national, and international presenter at gatherings of state educators, college instructors, and other researchers and authors in the field, such as The Council of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities, state education associations, and the International Reading Association. Beth also served as a student teacher supervisor as well as an evaluator for the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program.

28-YEAR MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER

Certified in Mississippi as a K-8 regular and special education teacher, Beth served as K-3 Reading and Math Academic Coach/Literacy Coach in the Hattiesburg Public School system for over 9 years. During that time Beth developed and implemented systematic strategies for developing writing skills and teaching writing across the curriculum, developed reading materials for K-3 teachers and tutors to meet the needs of children with the most extreme difficulties, and wrote a word study program to enhance phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, oral reading fluency, comprehension, and writing. Beth is also skilled in building K-3 math strategies through hands-on multisensory learning experiences.

Beth is a CERTIFIED Orton-Gillingham teacher for readers struggling with dyslexia and dyslexic tendencies. Having extensive training and the experience necessary to teach strategies to help students gain success with Common Core Standards, Beth can certainly help your student meet their individual goals and stay ahead of the game, making learning fun again!
